What a Month!

So it has been a while....The last two weeks have truly been some of the most difficult times in my life. But I guess I should start from the beginning. Warning this is going to be a long post!

After I took the kids to the doctors on Wednesday I decided that it would be a good idea to put the kids back in daycare on Friday and treat myself to a pedicure. Then I still had a little time so I figured maybe I should do a little shopping....then Daycare called and told me Elizabeth was running a small fever and just wasn't acting like herself. I should probably mention that my daughter loves, I mean LOVES daycare/school. She never has had a problem with me leaving her there and sometimes gets upset when it is time to go home. When I got there I could hear Elizabeth crying and she looked awful, I thought great another virus but at least she will have all weekend to get better. I decided to stop by the doctors office on the way home just to get her checked out, they told me it was strep. The doctor also told me not to really worry if her fever got to high that she would be OK just keep giving her Motrin/Tylenol and get her an antibiotic and by Monday she should be as good as new. Sounded great.....

Friday night around 11pm her fever hit 105.3. I called the doctors services and they told me not to worry that I should just watch her but if it hit that high again to bring her in the next morning. I of course panicked and call my husbands best friend Scott who only lives an hour away and had him and his nurse girlfriend Carlee come stay the night just in case. Thankfully the fever didn't come back that night and Elizabeth woke up and wanted to play with Mr. Scott. She was fine the whole morning, no fever and very playful. That afternoon was another subject, her fever spiked again and she just wanted to lie down and watch cartoons. I panicked again and called my in laws to come get Jace so I could focus on Elizabeth, which they gladly did. Saturday night her fever hit 105 again around 4:30am so I decided that we would go back to the doctors office in the morning. This is when it gets really scary as we were getting ready to leave for the doctors office she spit up blood, and then completely refused to drink any liquids.

She was put in the hospital Sunday afternoon and stayed until Wednesday night. They still aren't sure what exactly she had but think she had strep along with a viral infection. Yes they ran a million test on my poor baby but everything came back negative. My Mom came up Monday night to help out which I desperately needed. Trying to take care of a sick child who only wants to be held is very hard to do by yourself, plus I didn't sleep for the whole time she was sick. By Thursday she was back to her old self like nothing had happened and loving all the attention she was getting.

Friday, I noticed that my throat was starting to hurt. I thought it was because of the stress of the whole situation but by Saturday morning I knew that I had caught the viral infection. I spent Saturday morning in the ER getting my strep, double pink eye, viral infection diagnoses. Needless to say I didn't feel good and my Mom had already been here for a week and definitely could not take off anymore time from work. She left on Monday and my mother in law came up on Tuesday. I am know a week later back to my old self and hoping and praying Jace doesn't get this nasty infection.

Thanks to everyone who helped out taking care of me and the kiddos! Here are some pictures before the germs hit!
